Meet Dr. Matthew A. Turner
Since he was in the sixth grade, Dr. Matthew A. Turner dreamed about becoming a dentist. He built his own dentistry practice from scratch by treating his patients well and letting word of mouth do all of his advertising. Nearly 30 years later, Dr. Turner is still delighting patients in the Kansas City, MO, area with his gentle and expert care.
Meet Dr. Matthew Turner
Dr. Turner graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry, with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1991. Previous to that, he majored in Biology and Chemistry at Central Missouri State University. In the fall of 1991, Dr. Matthew Turner began his own private dental practice in Blue Springs, MO. Being a lifelong resident of the Blue Springs area, Dr. Turner knew there was no other place he would rather build his practice than his hometown. He has practiced in Blue Springs for twenty eight years and is proud to say that he has many patients that have been with his practice since the beginning.
Dr. Turner and his team focus on Cosmetic, Family, and General Dentistry. He takes great pride in the “Art of Dentistry.” Helping make patients proud of their smile brings him no greater joy. Areas of his practice include routine cleanings, composite fillings, root canals, Smile Makeovers, crowns, veneers, bridges, dentures, partials, teeth whitening and Invisalign® (clear braces). He feels that the dental office should be a fun and enjoyable experience for all ages and focuses on creating a casual, family-friendly atmosphere. Dr. Turner loves to joke around with his patients and is willing to do whatever it takes to make sure that each patient is comfortable during any dental treatment.
Dr. Turner believes that knowledge and an improved skill set, mixed with the latest technology and materials, are vital to successful treatment. He and his team complete over 100 hours of Continuing Education every two years to ensure they are using the most up-to-date techniques and are giving their patients the quality of treatment they deserve.
Dr. Turner is involved with many professional and community organizations throughout the area, including the American Dental Association, Missouri Dental Association, Greater Kansas City Dental Society, Eastern Jackson County Dental Society, Blue Springs Chamber of Commerce, and Oak Grove Chamber of Commerce. He is also an Invisalign® Certified Provider and a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (A.A.C.D.).
Dr. Turner is a very proud volunteer for the Heart of America Council of the Boy Scouts of America for over 20 years.
He serves on the staff of H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation and is also a Tribal Council Member in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say (an Honor Camping Organization).
In his spare time, you can find Dr. Turner outside doing one of his many hobbies, including fishing and hunting. Throughout the year, he enjoys spending time volunteering at Boy Scout Camp. Dr. Turner and his wife, Shawn, have been married for 30 years and have two adult children, Ethan and Emily.
