Understanding Invisalign Cost: 5 Factors That Can Make a Difference

Several factors can affect the cost of your Invisalign treatment. During an initial consultation at our Blue Springs office, located in the Greater Kansas City, MO, area, Dr. Turner will discuss the potential costs of this popular and discreet orthodontic treatment.
Number one

Complexity of Misalignment

No two patients of Dr. Turner's are the same. For example, a patient with one or two overlapped teeth can complete treatment sooner and less expensively than if you have severe rotation and an overbite.

Number two

Pre-Orthodontic Treatments

Dr. Turner may need to treat gum disease or tooth decay before proceeding with your Invisalign treatment. If needed, this would add to your cost, as will elective treatments such as teeth whitening.

Number three

Replacement Aligners

Life happens. You could leave your Invisalign aligners somewhere, or they could get damaged. Dogs LOVE to chew on dropped plastic aligners. Replacing an aligner could cost extra.

Number four

Number of Aligners

Let's say you need 25 aligners. If you change each set every two weeks, that's 50 weeks of treatment. So, the amount of time and number of Invisalign trays you need to straighten your teeth will directly influence your total cost.

Number five

Retainers

As with braces, wearing a retainer post-treatment can stop aligned teeth from shifting out of place. Dr. Turner can discuss retainer options and their costs during your consultation

Does Invisalign Cost More or Take Longer Than Braces?

It depends on your individual case, but many of Dr. Turner's orthodontic patients are surprised to discover that the cost of Invisalign is comparable to the cost of most traditional braces. On average, Invisalign can straighten teeth faster than braces, as well.

Should I See an Orthodontist for Invisalign?

No need to waste time making appointments and driving to a Kansas City area orthodontist. Dr. Turner is a certified Invisalign provider, meaning he can create a precisely designed treatment plan as well, if not better, than an orthodontist. This can save you money, as an orthodontist may charge more than a dentist.

Dental Insurance and Financing Can Reduce Invisalign Cost

  • Many insurance plans cover some portion of Invisalign costs. Our friendly staff will be happy to check on that for you.
  • Should you be concerned about out-of-pocket costs, Dr. Turner offers low-interest payment plans through CareCredit®
  • In other words, Dr. Turner will do everything he can to keep Invisalign costs within your budget so that you can afford the smile of your dreams.
