Actually, from the time I was in the sixth grade, I knew I wanted to be a dentist. I knew what I wanted my office to look like. I graduated from dental school in 1991, and had always dreamed of and desired to start my own practice, as they say, from scratch. So I did just that.
My theory was treat people nicely, treat them well, and let word of mouth do all of the advertising for you. So I did that and asked people, you know, if they liked what we were doing for them and they liked us, to refer their family and friends. And we've grown from that beginning now almost 30 years in practice.
Why did I want to work in dentistry? I have two older siblings. I got drug along to their orthodontic appointments actually. The orthodontist that they were treated by and that I was eventually treated by, he had the same theory. It was just something I knew from a very early age exactly what I wanted to do and how I was going to go about doing it. And I'm proud to say that I accomplished that goal.
